Our Covid-19 Safety Measures

We are now ready for our workshops to return as from 26th September 2020.

This information aims to identify the key requirements on us as a club and you as a parent/carer on the strict procedures that are in place in order for your child to attend our workshops safely.

It is very important that you read and share this information with your child, so that they are fully aware of what is expected of them.

Under no circumstances should anyone attend a workshop if they or any member of their household shows any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:

• High temperature over 37.8 degrees Celsius

• A new or persistent cough

• Loss of taste or sense of smell

A short health questionnaire will be sent to all those attending a workshop. This must be completed and submitted just before arrival at the venue. Anyone who has not submitted the completed questionnaire will not be admitted.

Our safeguarding measures include:

• All attendees must pre-book a place in advance via an online booking form.

• To reduce cash handling, our preferred payment method is by bank transfer (BACS) in advance of attendance. Alternatively, cash will be accepted on the day, although no change will be given.

• Reduced number of children attending any workshop.

• Extra cleaning of touchable surfaces before and after workshop.

• Extra hand sanitising stations.

• New classroom style layout to maximise social distance.

• All staff will wear protective face covering and gloves.

• All attendees will have their temperature taken before entering the venue.

• Staggered arrival and departure times.

• Signage as a reminder of safety measures e.g. washing hands and social distancing.

• New rules will be explained to attendees at the beginning of the workshop, including how they can collect the bricks safely, a new one way system, regular hand washing and social distancing.

• Bricks will be left untouched for 72 hours before each event.

• We will no longer provide a drink and biscuit. Attendees can bring their own water bottle and non chocolate snack if they wish to do so.

Arrival and departure from the venue.

Once you have booked your place at a workshop, we will ask you to arrive and collect from the venue within allocated times. The arrival/departure times will be for groups of 5/6 attendees at a time, in 5 minute intervals from 9:45 – 10am for arrivals, and 11:45 – 12:00 for collection. Please wait outside at this time, either on the ramp outside the back door, or in the car park until you can see it is safe to approach the entrance. Please remember social distancing at all times.

On arrival, your child will have their temperature taken and we will check that the Covid-19 Screening form has been received. If your child’s temperature is 37.8 or over, or if the questionnaire has not been received, we will ask you to return home.

At this point, we will issue hand sanitiser and recommend wearing a face covering and/or gloves.

After the workshop.

Parents/carers are requested to follow the same procedure as for arrival. Arrive at allocated collection time; queue outside on the ramp observing social distancing rules, your child will be brought to the back door, please leave via the steps. We request that parents/carers do not congregate after the session.

Unfortunately, we can no longer allow parents to come into the venue to view their children’s creations. However, we will still publish all photographs of builds on our Facebook page.

A record of all attendees will be kept for 21 days following the workshop in order to trace any individual who at a later date reports any COVID-19 symptoms.

IMPORTANT: All parents/carers of attendees have a responsibility to inform us, should they get any symptoms of COVID-19 within 48 hours of the workshop. We will then invoke the Track and Trace process to contact all others present at the workshop. Name of the individual will not be disclosed.

As you can see from the extensive precautions being put in place, we will do everything we can to keep your child safe from COVID-19 during our workshops. However, we also need to make you aware that unfortunately we cannot completely guarantee that your child won’t catch the virus and unwittingly bring it back to your home. Therefore, we would remind all parents/carers that anyone who feels uncomfortable or unsure about the return, can choose not to attend. For those who do choose to attend, it is imperative that all the guidance is read and fully adhered to at all times, to make the workshops as safe as possible for all attendees and staff.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
